STREET WORK

1972 - 2021

In 1972, David participated in a student exchange program while studying geography at the University of Regina. He travelled to Helsinki, Finland and worked at the University Botanical Gardens for the summer and started taking photographs.

When he came home, motivated to make photography a career, he discovered the photographs of Henri Cartier-Bresson and of Canadian photographers in the NFB publication, "Call Them Canadians".

David was inspired to become a street photographer and to this day, continues the search for relevant subjects. He has diversified his photographs over the years to include portraits and landscapes, using both black and white film and colour digital cameras.
